It’s that time of year again. I have, for many years, written a holiday parody song or similar and this year will be no exception. Past years have been marked by the following songs and poems:
Walking in a Venture Fundingland
It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like A Business
An Entrepreneur’s 12 Days of Startup Christmas
My Letter to Santa
PPACA is Coming to Town
Twas the Night Before HIT Implementation
But this year we are going full Rudolph!
AI the Be-All End-All (Sung to the tune of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer)
You know Bitcoin and Blockchain and Sensors and VR,
IoT and NLP and Additive and AR,
But do you recall
The most famous buzzword of all?
AI the Be-All End-All
Seems a very shiny sight
And if you ever saw it
You would likely say “yeah, right”
All the other technology
Tries to pose and get the fame
Analytics isn’t AI
Big data just ain’t the same
So one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
“AI, with your rep so bright
Can you drive my Waze tonight?”
What Santa didn’t tell us
Even though we should have known
AI’s been in his toolkit
Since old Rudolph had first flown
AI the Be-All End-All
Is how Santa checks the rolls
Tells him who is bad or good
And who should get lumps of coal
All the other technology
Used to seem fancy and bright
But now with sleigh-board AI
Santa predicts chimney height
So this foggy Christmas Eve
Santa might just say
“Alexa, let’s head out tonight
Reindeer robots take to flight!”
Then the data scientists loved him
And they shouted out with glee
“AI the Be-All End-All
Let us set the data free!”
Happy Holidays Everyone! Especially Festivus. See you in 2018…probably virtually.
